Awareness is mindfulness. It is the root of wholeness, and the catalyst for helping you become who you are meant to be. It doesn’t judge or criticize; or label or categorize.
The shadow, or dark side, of awareness is ignorance. It dulls your ability to make meaning. It tunes you into your “inner critic”, resulting in a loss of peace.
When your levels of awareness are low, your energy levels are low. This makes it easier for you to misinterpret the joyful and painful experiences of life.
We develop greater levels of awareness by mindful practices such as journaling, pondering and meditation.
The journey to peace through awareness is not about reaching some perfect state. It's about meeting each moment with open attention, recognizing that peace is always available when we remember to pause, breathe, and witness our experience with compassion.
